Breakdown...

...in the moral fabric of society.

As I've mentioned previously, I am a card-carrying member of the Screen Actors Guild. Thus, I have the "privilege" of voting for the "S.A.G. Awards".

So...at this time of the year, I'm afforded the opportunity to see films that are under consideration for those, paid for by the production companies that made them.

I have just received a free pass in the mail, to see "Brokeback Mountain", a movie advertised as: "An epic love story, set against the sweeping landscapes of Wyoming and Texas, that tells the story of two young men--a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy--who meet in the summer of 1963 while driving cattle on a mountain range. They unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love."

Yeesh. They don't specifically say it, but the love to which they're referring is not platonic. You couldn't pay me to go and see that; free surely doesn't cut it.

I don't hate homosexuals, any more than I hate any other mentally ill individuals. Once upon a time, the psychiatric community identified homosexuality as just that: mental illness. But, that's an area where homosexual activists have gotten their way, just as they are currently trying to do with marriage in this country. I have known people of that "orientation" in both genders. What they had in common is that they were victims of abuse, so consequently they came to distrust those of the opposite gender.

There is a small but highly vocal minority of "gay" people who wish to cause the world at large to recognize their "choice" as just another "alternative", no different from a preference for strawberry ice cream over butter pecan.

The reality is, leaving ethics, morals, religious teachings, etc. out of the equation...biology alone dictates such behavior as abnormal. A purely homosexual species would quickly die off.

Some "enlightened" individuals have called me a homophobe for my views. I point out to them that a phobia is a fear; I'm not afraid of homosexuals, I simply disapprove of their "lifestyle". Never hate.

However, actually watching that kind of thing is the last thing I'd want to do.

Update! I found THIS quite amusing...
(You'll need the appropriate software to view it)

Hey Camo... what Angus said.

I always thought that homosexuality was ONLY a "lifestyle" choice made on the part of the individual... a bad choice. But of late, I am beginning to suspect that at least for a few homosexuals, there may be some genetic or biological cause. IMHO, it is a genetic defect.

As you suggest, for some it may be a psychological problem.

Angus the Scot :
Apparently in Vermont, home of the "civil union" in the U.S., they actually encourage experimentation with the "alternative lifestyle" in the schools.

Isn't that special?

kwl:
The mental picture I could do without...yucky. It brings to mind the euphemism "rump wranglers".

Hawkeye®:
It sounds like you're buying into that "gay gene" theory. It hasn't been proven, and I doubt if it ever will.

Just because someone is born less masculine or feminine than their peers, it doesn't mean they have to make that "choice"...

I don't hate or fear homosexuals either, yet I DO hate and fear what the vocal, (and WELL funded), minority is doing to our once moral Country!

I have a theory that most, (if not ALL sin), is an acquired behavior. I remember achohol, smoking, and most other sins I have committed not being pleasant the first time I did them. Other sin, like doing some drugs, may have been fun the first time, but I had to almost force myself to do them, for the perceived fear I had been told that I may become addicted to them.

I believe homosexual behavior is the same way. I have never been tempted to be that way, although I have know a few. One actually went to school with me, and was a friend I ran around with shortly after high school. He was one of the bullies who teased and tormented a guy in school who was "said" to be gay. He also invited me to go with him on a few occasions to, (in his words), to "--roll some fags, and steal their money!"

I did not go, and it is because I DO NOT hate anybody! This friend also dated more than a few women and even got one pregnant. I hung around with him because I thought I might get one of his "cast-off" women. Several were real foxes!

I then got drafted, and while home on leave, he admitted that the older lady he was dating and had written me about, "Ruby", was actually an older man named Rudy!

I will admit, this admission had me wondering about myself for a short period of time!

"Gary" and I remained friends for a while, but being a born again Christian, I soon realized that I knew, AND he knew his lifestyle was wrong, and if I accepted it, I would be as wrong as he.

I have not seen him in many years, but am sure if he still lives in Indy, he has read one or more of the articles I have written in the Indy Star concerning my feelings.

I still pray for Gary, as he had a VERY Godly grandmother, and he knew/knows what GOD says about men lying with men.

Sorry for the long rant Camo, but maybe something I said may help someone.

You were the one who told me about, as you say, 'liberal' sex education teachers encouraging experimentation. I didn't specify who "they" were that did that, but anyone who does it should be thrown in jail. They might enjoy the "alternative lifestyle" to be found there.

RAM:
A good friend of mine in high school was like this Gary you mention, in that he made that "choice". He was very shy with women, and eventually was seduced by a predatory type homosexual. Last I heard, he was living in California, but had suffered a nervous breakdown. His "lifestyle" was in conflict with his Christian upbringing...he is a pastor's kid, in fact.

PS: Rant as long as you like; "Google" is paying for all of this...

Actually, I saw "Team America World Police"; just like those guys' other work "South Park", I think they go too far, on television and especially in the theater. I don't watch it any more...

"There are no absolute 'truths', according to us...the moral relativists and situational ethicists of the world!!! We're going to cram OUR 'lifestyles' and lib-tard 'feelings' society's throats, whether you 'hatemongers' like it, OR NOT! 'Freedom of speech' ONLY applies to leftist lunatics like us...so just 'die and go to hell' you evil Christians, 'foisting' your views on the rest of us." -TIF, WF

THE ONLY PEOPLE WASTING WEBSPACE, IN FACT JUST TAKING UP SPACE IN GENERAL, ARE YOU LEFTIST SCUM! Talk about dying and going to hell...better enjoy your "ride" while you're here, "truth is freedom", 'cause when your time is up, you'll find out what the real truth is!

Neither truth, nor freedom, huh? Sounds downright hateful, to me...and keeps coming back, although insisting otherwise. Kind of sad, really.

Leftards are filled with hatred and rage, and ol' fascist "truth is freedom" wants to silence all viewpoints that are not a part of it's parallel universe. Liberals are just beside themselves at the fact that conservatives are not only fighting back against the loony left, but also WINNING! Muwahahahahaha!
