Got plans this Saturday?

From the Carlisle Theatre website:

FOREVER WILD: A CELEBRATION OF WILDERNESS A Benefit Concert to Establish the Appalachian Trail Museum in Central Pennsylvania. One of America's most unique folksingers and backcountry travelers, Walkin' Jim Stoltz, on tour from the mountains of Montana, will bring his powerful multi-media show, Forever Wild, to the Carlisle Theatre, 40 West High Street, Carlisle, PA, on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. The mix of stunning photography, stories, and music make this one-of-a-kind concert an inspiring journey into our nation's last wilderness areas. This event is sponsored by the Appalachian Trail Museum Society and is a fund-raiser to help establish the Appalachian Trail Museum, designated for Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Michaux State Forest, Cooke Township.

I mentioned the Appalachian Trail Museum project in a piece that I wrote here this past August.

This coming Saturday in Carlisle, PA there will be a concert, the proceeds of which will benefit the project.

We need someplace to reassemble the Earl Shaffer shelter, which we took apart the first weekend in August.

It is being negotiated for the museum to be established in Pine Grove, near the Ironmaster's Hostel, which is located at the midpoint of the Appalachian Trail.

If you can make it, then that would be great.

An appreciation for folk music would help...

I love to be there but........

Somethings are just a little out of the way. Shoot, the best I could do was hear Karol Cing sing You Got a Fiend at an Obama rally I picketed.

I think Walkin' Jim would be a whole lot greater

Shoot Jack, wish I could be there. Will look up the artist and see if I can get a listen to, perhaps buy a track or two.
Funny thing Jack, the sun still came up today. Huh..go figure.
However I did see a prostitute that wasn't even standing on her corner, just laying in a park singing about Obama, that because of him, she wouldn't have to turn tricks anymore.

Sounds like a great cause and a lot of fun! I sure wish I could go but, alas, it is not to be. Work and more work awaits my weekend...

Sadly we too have other plans. why don't you post an address/payable where we could send some cash to support the cause?
It sounds worthy enough!

That's too far for me to travel, my friend. ;-)

Ms RightWing:
It's over a hundred miles from "La Casa de Camo" (my rambling estate) too. I may or may not make it there for the event myself.

KWL:
Since first posting the article I've added a link to Walkin' Jim's website.

Beerme:
My work weekends will have to wait 'til after Thanksgiving Week; between then and early Spring are when I've been typically working extra hours, since my outdoor activities are sharply curtailed when it's cold outside.

Hawkeye®:
If you've got prior plans, you are certainly excused. ;-)

boberin:
You can mail donations to the following address:

ATMS
c/o Rich Evans - Treasurer
PO Box 568096
Orlando, FL 32856

Bunny:
Yes, I realize it's too far for you.

However, the Museum's curator-to-be asked me to post about it on my blog, and I always notify you when I post something new...
