What a load of crap!

Here's the windup...and here's the pitch!!!

Is it just me, or have the political attack ads been getting worse?

I don't generally watch a lot of television, but during the commercial breaks that occasionally interrupted the movies I was watching this weekend, it seemed as though fully half of the advertisements were political.
(I guess it must be almost election day)

Anyway, in reference to the picture above, someone posted a comment recently at the site that introduced me to "Da Blogosphere": ScrappleFace.
(Also linked on sidebar)

I don't remember who said it, but they said that the monkeys in the zoo fling less crap than the ads nowadays.

I can't help but agree...

I mostly tune them out. But I had to wonder, listening to all the fur flying in the car this weekend, isn't it a good thing McCain-Feingold got all the money out of politics? I tell ya, it's a different world now, isn't it?

Plus ca change, plus la meme chose.

*snort*

And I got up at 0400 for this?

I take a lot of grief for my political views. I have that $100 bill waiting for a Democrat who can outvote the American people. I haven't lost yet; that bill's gathering dust.

"Plus ca change, plus la meme chose."?

C'est vrai...or put another way: S.S.D.D.

onlineanalyst:
Nastiness seems to be the order of the day in some "quarters".
(I think "poo flinging monkey" is an apt analogy)

Beerme:
Do you mean the Macaque monkey (genus Macaca)?

Actually, yes, it is. That biz in VA was some racist thing.

Possum:
Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you so early.

I hope that you continue to win that wager...

I know it's bad when I get peeved at the Republican ads, too.

Hey, enough with the "dangerous plans" garbage. Just tell us how the candidate wants to circumvent the Constitution and give away my money! That's all I need to know.

They are getting cagier, though. Have you noticed how many of these local ads don't mention the party affiliation of the candidate?

Reading the biography of Alexander Hamilton makes it obvious to me that crap has been slung in this country as often as the sun has risen.

One of my personal favorites this season was put out by Gov. (spit) Jennifer Grandhom. It had Dick DeVos' face morphing into George W. Bush. Oh my goodness! I never realized they looked so much alike. Wait! They're twins! Wait! They're really the same person. AIEEEEEEEEEEE!

*snort* indeed.

c'moooooonnnnnnn Tuesday!

I get peeved at both "brands" myself.

Oh, and in fact I have noticed that a lot of local candidates don't divulge their party affiliation...so much for truth in advertising.

mig:
Back in Hamilton's day, at least they weren't bombarded with it 24/7.

MargeinMI:
It seems a lot of the ads are sort of taking Bush's low popularity poll percentages into account. I don't put a lot of credence in such things, personally...

I can't wait 'til it's over, either.

I don't remember ever getting so many phone messages before...thank God for Caller ID!

JR:
Hopefully they remember that...
