Something's fishy...
Last Saturday, I finally got down to the National Aquarium in Baltimore, something I'd been meaning to do ever since they opened the place.
I've been to some nice aquaria previously, most notably the ones in Boston, Massachusetts and Sydney, Australia.
I was surprised to learn what a procrastinator I truly am...because on August 8th, the Baltimore Aquarium celebrated their 25th anniversary.
Time really does fly when you're havin' fun...

Last time I was down that way for the weekend the aquarium was closed for renovations, too bad.
Heck, I haven't managed to get to the one in Camden yet, talk about lazy!
I've been to a few aquariums... Shedd Aquarium in Chicago (largest indoor aquarium in the world), Camden NJ, Mystic Connecticut, and of course Sea World in Florida.
I've also caught a few fish and eaten a few fish in my time (some better than others). The very best was a 3-foot 'Wahoo' I caught off the coast of Florida. Mmmmmm! Good eatin'
(:D) Regards...
Twenty-five years... WOW... Have you been to Disney World Florida???
Wow Camo!
You been slackin?
You know we landed men on the moon, right?
LOL

I haven't been to the one in Camden yet, either. Remember Aquarama in South Philly? It closed in the late 60's, I think.

Funny you should mention that, 'cause after we got back from the aquarium...we went out and had fish for dinner.
JR:
I've been to Disneyland; as for Florida, I went to Epcot Center.

I heard that, but haven't gone myself...
I keep meaning to try and sail into the harbor with the Unit - our boat is moored not far from there, actually. But we've just been too busy.
It's a nice aquarium. My oldest son loves anything from the ocean. He had a salt water tank in his town house with all sorts of bizarre critters in it. He and my daughter in law love fish - I used to love to go over there and watch the nutty things swimming around in there. I used to threaten to fry them up (he's quite the oriental cook - dim sum, anyone?).

You guys have a sailboat?! Way cool!!! I've got a 26' MacGregor "trailer sailer"; what's yours? I've trailered mine down to Florida*, out to Lake Superior, up to Lake Winnepesaukee...and to my local lake too. As a matter o' fact, co-worker of mine keeps his boat in the Baltimore area.
*A number of times to The Keys, last year to Bimini...
Well, it's just a family boat :) We wouldn't have our own boat. No time. We share it between my brother, parents, and us. This one's almost exactly like ours.
This year I had great intentions of spending time on it - I was going to get the women in the family to take sailing lessons together. We were kidding about taking it out and doing a 'ladies' weekend. But between working and travelling I haven't been home long enough.
Cassandra:
A Hunter, eh? Nice. There were a couple of them in our flotilla on the Bimini run last year...Moonlight Chaser and Baum's Rush.
Incidentally, I'm closing out this thread; I generally do that after a week...
