Were you there?

Literally, of course, no...I was not there.

In spirit however, although it humbles me more than anything else ever could, I've been there many times.

The feelings are conveyed quite well in a song:

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?

Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?

(African-American spiritual)

The truth is, it always makes me cry. Always...

Hi Jack. A blessed Easter to you also. A very beautiful hymn as well as the "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today". Both are very difficult to sing when your throat is all tightened up from tears....we just have to keep trying!!

We all needed that, my friend.

It's why He died, for all of our sins.
(But you know that)

David P:
Yes, the peace that passes all understanding.

Hawkeye®:
Back at you, brother.

UpNorthLurkin:
I'll post something else for Easter, but yes, "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today" is a beautiful hymn.

Beerme:
Indeed; I feel it most strongly on this particular day...
