How 'BOUT dem Phillies?
Here's their Number One "Phan"...the "Phillies Phanatic":
Of course, it's a paid position, their official mascot.
The Phillies almost didn't make the playoffs, but once they got there, they also got right down to "bidness".
They made short work of the L.A. Dodgers to win the National League Pennant, then they proceeded to make short work of the Tampa Bay Rays to win the World Series...something they hadn't done since I was still in the military, back in 1980.
There was much "joy in Mudville" last night!
(So to speak)
Game Five was one for the books, what with the 6th inning being interrupted for two whole days, but "all's well that ends well".
(To use a cliché)
Unless, of course, one happens to be a Rays fan.
Interestingly enough, this was the first season in years that I didn't get out to see any of the Phillies games. If I was superstitious, I might think that meant something. But I'm not...
WOO HOO!!!
